Esztergom, Visegrád, Szentendre – Unwind along the Danube Bend on the outskirts of Budapest. Enjoy a full-day private tour to the largest church in Hungary, the former Hungarian capital at Esztergom, the Citadel of Visegrád and more. Take in panoramic views and a rich cultural history.
We travel to the northern part of Hungary. Our first stop is Esztergom, the former capital of Hungary, where we visit the Esztergom Basilica, the largest church of the country. (Esztergom is the Centre of the Roman Catholic Church in Hungary.) Behind the Church burst upon our view the River Danube and the Mária Valéria Bridge, which joins Esztergom and Štúrovo (Slovakia).
We continue our tour and arrive at Visegrád, where we show you the Early Renaissance Royal Residence of King Matthias Corvinus and the medieval Citadel (today museum), from where you can marvel the unique panorama of the Danube Bend.
After the museum visit and the photo break we invite you for a three-course lunch in a nice local restaurant.
Our last stop is Szentendre, ”the colony of artists”, the most visited attraction of the Danube Bend. This small town is remarkable and popular for its mediterranean atmosphere and colourful architecture, the baroque houses, narrow streets, nice churches, several famous museums, nice cafés and souvenir shops.
We provide you with some free time to discover the beauties of this remarkable town.
After that we drive back to Budapest, where the tour ends.
As required, from May to end of September returning by boat from Szentendre. The boat leaves at 5 p.m. No boat on Monday!
